Don’t you hate when you plan to take a 5-minute break to refresh and it turns into 3 hours? Suddenly the productivity you envisioned for the day is circling the drain and a tiny bit of self-loathing starts to knock on the door.
It has been over a year since I wrote a blog post on The Parkinson’s Report and there are moments I asked myself if I was giving up the ship. Within the last year there have been a few significant changes that have postponed my writing. In brief, I launched a private practice with tele-health model for treating people with Parkinson’s but was quickly met with insurmountable hurdles from Medicare, three months later my family embarked on a move to another state, and soon after I learned we would be adding a baby to the mix. Although much of the last year was unanticipated, I am grateful for the time to reset and can confidently say that my fervor for the Parkinson’s community has not waned and it is the very thing that prompts me to tap out this little message even after so many months passed.
I know you are still out there and I am here too, raising my flag of advocacy for the sake of community, education, and contributing to my field.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic I am eager to be present and will be providing short pieces on the blog and additional resources for the Parkinson’s community and those who serve people living with PD. Full disclosure, I am 2-3 weeks out from having a baby (!!) but with an extra dose of optimism and pre-baby content creation, you can count on The Parkinson’s Report to deliver new content and gather resources in one place for you to digest.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
